Microsoft plans to be busy this summer working with educators to use their feedback as it continues e to develop the game. Microsoft bought MinecraftEdu earlier this year to supplement the upcoming launch of its own education version. Not long after, the potential for Minecraft in the classroom was realized when the program expanded to over 5,500 educators and received support from Minecraft’s former owner, Mojang. In 2011, educator Joel Levin developed MinecraftEdu. In 2011, an educator created an educational version of the game and it took off in schools almost immediately. Microsoft has been looking to expand Minecraft’s influence in education since it purchased the game several years ago. For educators looking to keep busy this summer, the partnership could be ideal. Teachers and administrators will be able to test out the beta version for the rest of the summer to provide Microsoft with feedback on how the game would work in classrooms.Īs Education World reported last month, Minecraft is available in over 11 languages and its owner Microsoft is hoping to work with educators around the world this summer to perfect the game’s classroom value. I have had beta stuck on since last year and have been unable to fix it (Xbox Insider on/off, un-install/re-install, reset Store "WSReset", even installed on a new machine and beta showed up), I have also been dealing with tech support for the last month and just happen to get this link from them today (although they still did not know how to fix it, told me their engineers were aware of it, working on it and they would send me updates every 72hrs on progress). So again guessing but I believe once I left Xbox Insider with his account on my machine it flipped whatever flag my machine was using to turn beta on/off. My guess is that although my kid had left beta from his machine something on my machine still thought his account was in beta and installed the beta version (ignoring that I had left it on my machine and he had left it on his machine). Logged into kid's account on kid's machine and installed Minecraft, beta version gone there too.Signed back in with my account on my machine, installed Minecraft, beta was now gone and back to normal version.Logged in with kid's account on my machine, went to XBox Insider (showed "Join" for Minecraft Beta, meaning account was not in beta at the moment), joined beta with kids account, waited a few minutes then left beta with kid's account.Went to my machine un-installed minecraft.Went to my kid's machine (second account that has logged in on my machine), un-installed minecraft and logged out of Xbox live.However I was able to fix the issue, unfortunately I did a few things at once so I don't know which one corrected it (although I do have a guess).įirst, knowing that this problem is likely related to multiple accounts on a single machine, I did the following. HOW TO GET MINECRAFT BETA PC
One workaround would be to launch the Xbox Insider Hub on any accounts which have launched the Minecraft Beta on that PC and unenroll from the flight via the Xbox Insider Hub. Therefore, if you have unregistered on one account, but at some point launched the beta version of Minecraft on another account, that other account will retain the rights to the Minecraft Beta. This issue can occur on the PC when more than one account has signed in and launched the beta version of Minecraft. We've seen this before a few times, so I've listed the steps below that have been seen to work in the past.
